gstreamer-plugins-bad Now Offers MIDI plugin

29 02 2008

Ok, now there’s numerous ways to play MIDIs in Ubuntu :)

There’s my previous How To with Audacious.  But now Ubuntu should be able to play MIDIs by default through any gstreamer based player with the new gsteamer-plugins-bad package in Hardy.  Whoohoo! :D

I knew a guy named Akshay in Ottawa… That’s pretty cool, I need to play my midis now. :P

Aw, this thing seems to be using Timidity. Is there no GStreamer plugin to output to the regular MIDI out port? (This because I have connected my MIDI out port to QSynth, which I find a far more accurate and faster softsynth than Timidity… ;)
